Project scope
The Dutch Railways (Nederlandse Spoorwegen) has as a policy objective that all NS stations meet the security requirements for personnel, travellers and other users. The NEN 3140 inspection is an essential part of it.
Project description
In Alkmaar is the traffic control post of the NS located. From this traffic control post is the train traffic for the northern part of Noord-Holland arranged. This building must be inspected periodically conform the NEN 3140. Regarding the fact that for certain measurements the distributors should be dead an outage of the train movement is requested. First are visual en thermografic inspections carried out and second the measurement and testing. During the outage the defects are resolved directly.
LKC Beheer & Inspectie has also inspected stations through the Netherlands. LKC Beheer & Inspectie was asked to perform NEN 3140 inspections including making detailed reports. These reports include:
- The inventory of the existing documentation;
- The creation of a streamlined Plan of Approach including the coordination of all parties concerned for the dead;
- The visual inspection, measurements and testing;
- The reporting of the defects and attention points.
