Waternet in Amsterdam
2009 - Present
Waternet is the first company in the Netherlands that focuses on the entire water cycle, form drinking water to waste water. The company performs the water management in command of the water management Amstel, Gooi en Vecht. The employees of Waternet may encounter risks during work on a sewage pumping station, or level management installation. To make these risks clear Waternet has given LKC Beheer & Inspectie the assignment to make a Risk Inventory & Evaluation of these objects per location. The assessment has been made through visual inspection, measurements and testing. In addition, several locations are assessed on the basis of safety provisions for low voltage installations, as mentioned in the NEN 1010.
There is a complete inspection performed on 31 sewer boxes at the new location IJburg, based on the provisions of the NEN-EN 50110 and NEN 3140. Furthermore, there has been made a risk assessment on the basis of the applicable laws and regulations.
Benefits for Waternet
“Carrying out the inspection and risk assessment delivers direct tangible benefits. So there is now a better understanding of the nature and the extent of the risks present and there are recommendations to reduce this in a practical way.”
